UHC2023 Forum Congratulates Nigeria’s President-Elect, Urges Prioritization of Health in National Development Agenda

The UHC2023 Forum has extended its hearty congratulations to Nigeria’s President-elect and Vice President-elect. The Forum, which advocates for universal health coverage in Nigeria, has urged the incoming administration to prioritize health in its national development agenda.

As Nigeria continues to grapple with suboptimal health system performance and a high burden of diseases, the UHC2023 Forum believes that investing in health is crucial to achieving Universal Health Coverage and other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The UHC2023 forum reiterated that a monumental turnaround in the health sector performance is possible if health is accorded its deserved political priority, therefore, the forum used the opportunity to call on both the President-elect and the Vice President-elect to see health spending beyond a mere expenditure but an investment that will yield significant socio-economic development and human capital advancement.
